Cal/EPA/Irvine ET Controller Residential Runoff Reduction Study

The Irvine Ranch water district conducted this ET controller study on 40 homes over a two-year period. The reduction in landscape runoff was 71%; similarly, the reduction in mass loading of pollutants from urban runoff was also 71%. The overall water use savings was found to be 22%


Irrigation Association Smart Water Application Technology Smart Controller Performance Protocol

The Irrigation Association tested the performance of smart controllers from a variety of vendors on irrigation adequacy, irrigation excess (runoff) and other key performance attributes, which formed the basis of new legislation of irrigation devices and EPA WaterSense protocol testing.
