WeatherTRAK ET Series controllers have received Smart Water Application Technology (SWAT) testing scores of 100% in irrigation accuracy and 0% in allowable excess when applying irrigation. View the report for the Irrigation Association’s SWAT test scores for all manufacturers. Similar testing and results are available from EPA WaterSense testing.
WeatherTRAK ET series controllers have also been studied in more than 25 independent, multi-year studies by water agencies, universities and other public agencies. The results of the studies validate water savings based on the Irrigation Association’s “Best Management Practices” for calculating irrigation runtimes. The average water savings from these studies is generally around 35%, which would yield 65% (0.65) controller efficiency.
If your project is a retrofit rather than new construction, please be aware that the calculations may change based on the LEED booklet applied. This stated efficiency assumes the controller is programmed using “Automated by WeatherTRAK” programming mode and using “Optimized by WeatherTRAK” water day mode in addition to an irrigation system that has hydraulic integrity (no leaks).
