HydroPoint Receives “Best Savings Impact” Vendor Award

WeatherTRAK™ smart irrigation management solution saves water & improves efficiency for Irvine Company’s office properties, apartment communities & premier resort.

March 27, 2014 – Petaluma, CA – HydroPoint Data Systems, the established leader in smart water management solutions for the last mile, announced today that it has received the “Best Savings Impact” vendor award from leading California real estate investment firm and master planner, the Irvine Company. HydroPoint was one of only six vendors to receive awards in this first-of-its-kind event honoring vendors for exceptional products and service.

“Water conservation has been part of the Irvine Ranch since it was founded 150 years ago, and remains part of the stewardship legacy and culture of the Irvine Company today,” said Clint Collins, Senior Director, Landscape Operations at the Irvine Company. “HydroPoint has helped to make our properties more efficient and, just as important, helped us save water.”

Currently WeatherTRAK Pro™ smart controllers with supporting WeatherTRAK Central™ cloud-based central management software are installed at 151 of the Irvine Company’s office properties, 11 of their apartment communities, and at The Resort at Pelican Hill, providing water management with weather-adjusted irrigation, station-specific scheduling, and real-time email alerts to ensure maximum water conservation and operational savings. In 2013 alone, WeatherTRAK helped its thousands of commercial, retail, multifamily housing, government, and education subscribers save 20 billion gallons of water and 77 million kilowatt hours of power validating the numerous independent reports and EPA runoff studies stating the product’s ability to save more than other solutions on the market.

“The Irvine Company is a true market leader, renowned for their absolute dedication to service, a dedication that extends to everything they do. To be awarded for exceptional service by one of industry’s best is a true honor for our company,” reflected Chris Spain, President & CEO of HydroPoint. “People often focus on our technology and its proven ability to deliver the greatest savings year after year but what I think this award highlights is our commitment to high-quality service in our continued quest to be the best partner we can be for each of our clients.”

HydroPoint’s maximum water savings solutions couldn’t be more relevant as California is facing the worst drought in the state’s history. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), commercial and institutional landscape irrigation constitutes up to 17% of publicly-supplied water use.
